Well another quarter has come and went in Globaloria. This quarter I felt I have made some good strides overall in how I am teaching and also as a mentor. The class right now is ahead of where we were last year at this time and it is only a 45 minutes class versus a 90 minute class last year. For this to happens shows me that I am getting more comfortable in teaching the class. I have also made a more conscious effort to have my students blog and also to follow the curriculm more closely this year. I feel that while I am doing a better job of mastering those concepts, I still have much improvment needed in both areas.
The new aspect of Globaloria this year is being a mentor. It has helped that my mentees are here at DCHS but also it still has challenges. They both have the task of incorporating Globaloria into a regular classroom. This task has shown itself to be more difficult at times than any of us could have thought. But I do give credit to my mentees because they have continued to fight through it and I believe they are starting to see results from their fight. I just hope they keep working through the difidculties and see the reults that can happen. I have faith that they will.
